Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (Travel RN) opportunity in Northport, Alabama (near Tuscaloosa). 13-week travel nursing assignment with 12-hour night shifts—ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs with Meditech EMR experience. BLS required.

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or Compact State (no temporary licenses accepted)
• Associate degree in Nursing or higher (ADN or BSN)
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification (or Red Cross equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred; will consider candidates with at least 18 months of nursing experience, including 1 year in Med/Surg Tele specialty (Telemetry RN / Med-Surg RN)
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred (electronic charting experience)
• Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed (flexible clinical support)

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to medical and surgical patients, including telemetry monitoring and patients requiring dialysis
• Perform continuous cardiac/telemetry monitoring and respond to changes in patient condition per unit protocols
• Manage a nurse/patient ratio of 1:6, supported by a Team Leader
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, ancillary staff, dialysis teams) to promote optimal patient outcomes
• Focus on pain management, mobility, prevention of complications, and discharge planning
• Float to other units or hospitals as required to meet patient care needs
• Document care accurately and efficiently using Meditech EMR and follow hospital documentation standards
• Maintain a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients and families
