  • Unit: Surgical Oncology / Flex Unit
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Shifts per Week: 3
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: Self-scheduling with weekend and holiday rotation expectations
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state
  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Experience with EPIC preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Travel nursing experience preferred
  • Ability to work within a 1:4 RN-to-patient ratio
  • Comfortable floating to areas of equal or lesser acuity as needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for oncology patients requiring surgical intervention as well as benign surgical patients
  • Deliver patient-centered care for a varied population that may include ENT, colorectal, OB/GYN, urology, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, thoracic, and plastic surgery patients
  • Monitor patient status, assess changes, and respond appropriately in a fast-paced surgical oncology setting
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to support coordinated treatment plans and positive patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively across shifts
  • Participate in self-scheduling while supporting holiday and weekend coverage needs
  • Float to comparable units or lower levels of care when assigned
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on excellent patient care
