Job Requirements – Oncology RN / BMT Nurse

  • Active RN license required (compact or Ohio state license required at submission) — Ohio nursing jobs candidates welcome
  • Minimum 2 years recent Medical-Surgical and Oncology RN experience (within the last 3 years)
  • At least 1 year current specialty experience in Oncology or Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT nurse experience)
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • EPIC electronic charting experience required
  • Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leader)
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
  • Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after contract signing
  • Preferred: ACLS, ONS Chemotherapy Certification, hematology oncology (heme/onc) experience, CAR-T familiarity

Responsibilities – Oncology RN / Hematology Oncology

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex hematologic and oncologic diagnoses (leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, etc.).
  • Care for patients undergoing autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapy; follow BMT protocols and safety procedures.
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage central and peripheral lines, administer blood products, and provide feeding tube care.
  • Recognize and activate rapid response protocols and implement infection prevention measures specific to immunocompromised patients.
  • Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed to support unit staffing and patient needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, social services, case management, and specialty providers.
  • Document patient care accurately in EPIC electronic medical records and maintain clear communication with the care team.
  • Participate in self-scheduling, adapt to unit needs, and support quality and safety initiatives on the unit.
