Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Operating Room Contract in Stroudsburg, PA
Join a fast-paced outpatient operating room as a Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. This 13-week surgical technologist contract offers the opportunity to support multispecialty procedures alongside an experienced surgical team in the scenic Pocono Mountains. Travel Surgical Technologist Job Details
- Position: Certified Operating Room Surgical Technologist (CST) / Surgical Tech
- Location: Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania
- Healthcare Setting: Multispecialty ambulatory outpatient operating room
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Start Date: December 14, 2026
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour day shifts
- Shift Hours: 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580–$1,700
- Department Environment: Three operating rooms, approximately 20 patients per day, and support for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Orientation: 8 hours
Certified Surgical Technologist Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of operating room or surgical technology experience
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile field maintenance, and sharps safety
- Experience in an ambulatory OR or multispecialty surgical setting preferred
- Cataract surgery experience highly preferred
- Ability to support procedures involving cataract extraction and lens implantation, arthroscopy, orthopedic procedures, carpal tunnel release, dilation and curettage, fracture reduction, and other multispecialty cases preferred
- Strong teamwork, communication, organization, and attention to detail
Operating Room Surgical Technologist Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, supplies, and specialty equipment for scheduled procedures
- Maintain a sterile field and consistently apply aseptic technique throughout each case
- Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team while anticipating procedural needs
- Assist with room turnover and help maintain an efficient workflow in a fast-paced outpatient environment
- Follow sharps safety practices and support accurate instrument, sponge, and supply counts
- Provide perioperative support for a broad range of multispecialty procedures, including ophthalmic, orthopedic, and general surgical cases
- Operate and assist with specialty equipment, including an ORA machine, as appropriate to the procedure
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia personnel, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to promote safe, high-quality patient care
