Seeking a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity in Hancock, MI. Join a supportive ASC-verified Level III trauma facility in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and provide call coverage, ED consults, and bread-and-butter orthopedic care in a scenic, small-town setting.

Job Requirements

  • Board Certified by the ABOS is required
  • Active Michigan medical license required
  • Active Michigan CDS and Michigan DEA required
  • At least 1 year of orthopedic surgery experience required
  • Must be comfortable with orthopedic call coverage and ED consults as needed
  • Experience in total joints and general orthopedics preferred
  • Arthroscopy experience required
  • Total joint replacement experience required, including hip, knee, and other joint procedures
  • Joint revision or repair experience required, including shoulder, hip, and knee
  • NBPAS certification is not accepted

Responsibilities

  • Provide orthopedic call coverage on scheduled dates
  • Respond to Emergency Department consults when requested
  • Evaluate and manage a variety of orthopedic cases, including fractures, sports injuries, and general orthopedics
  • Perform bread-and-butter orthopedic care in a supportive, well-organized setting
  • Collaborate with an experienced surgical team and orthopedic advanced practice support
  • Deliver high-quality patient care in a digital, efficient operating room environment
  • Complete onsite orientation prior to the start of coverage
