Travel Registered Nurse – Outpatient Surgery, Pre-Op & PACU Phase I/II in Santa Rosa, California

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 09/21/2026
- Shift Duration: 8-hour day shift
- Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday, typically 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM; occasional 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Weekend Requirement: No weekends
- Call Requirement: No call
- Holiday Commitment: May be expected to work 3 of 5 designated holidays
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040 - $2,140
- Charting System: Epic preferred
- Float: May float to Main PACU if needed
Job Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license or compact license in hand at submission
- At least 1 year of nursing experience required
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
- Experience in ambulatory surgery or outpatient surgery strongly preferred
- Strong pre-op, PACU, and post-operative recovery experience preferred
- Comfort with variable start times and a flexible daily workflow
- Ability to care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Strong communication, organization, and patient education skills
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate perioperative nursing care for outpatient surgical patients
- Complete pre-op assessments, patient education, and medication reconciliation
- Monitor and support patients during PACU Phase I and PACU Phase II recovery
- Administer and monitor conscious sedation and procedural recovery care as appropriate
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond quickly to support positive outcomes
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the care team to coordinate efficient patient flow
- Prepare patients for discharge with clear instructions and follow-up guidance
- Maintain accurate documentation and support a smooth day-to-day surgical workflow
- Adapt to changing patient assignments and support the Main PACU when needed
