Travel Registered Nurse – Outpatient Surgery, Pre-Op & PACU Phase I/II in Santa Rosa, California

Travel RN opportunity in Santa Rosa, CA for an experienced Registered Nurse in outpatient surgery, pre-op, and PACU Phase I/II.   • Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
  • Location: Santa Rosa, California
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: 09/21/2026
  • Shift Duration: 8-hour day shift
  • Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday, typically 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM; occasional 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Weekend Requirement: No weekends
  • Call Requirement: No call
  • Holiday Commitment: May be expected to work 3 of 5 designated holidays
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040 - $2,140
  • Charting System: Epic preferred
  • Float: May float to Main PACU if needed

Job Requirements

  • Active California Registered Nurse license or compact license in hand at submission
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience required
  • ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
  • Experience in ambulatory surgery or outpatient surgery strongly preferred
  • Strong pre-op, PACU, and post-operative recovery experience preferred
  • Comfort with variable start times and a flexible daily workflow
  • Ability to care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Strong communication, organization, and patient education skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate perioperative nursing care for outpatient surgical patients
  • Complete pre-op assessments, patient education, and medication reconciliation
  • Monitor and support patients during PACU Phase I and PACU Phase II recovery
  • Administer and monitor conscious sedation and procedural recovery care as appropriate
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and respond quickly to support positive outcomes
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the care team to coordinate efficient patient flow
  • Prepare patients for discharge with clear instructions and follow-up guidance
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support a smooth day-to-day surgical workflow
  • Adapt to changing patient assignments and support the Main PACU when needed
