Travel Nursing Job Details
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Location: Fountain Valley, California
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Assignment End Date: February 1, 2027
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, five 8-hour shifts per week
- Shift: Day shift, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Patient Population: Adult oncology patients
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,200-$2,310
- Healthcare Setting: On-site outpatient oncology clinic
- Patient Volume: Approximately 20 patients per day
- Float Requirement: May float to other affiliated campuses
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at the time of application
- At least 1 year of professional Registered Nurse experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Chemo certification through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC)
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience documented in the candidate's work history
- Experience with adult oncology patients, ambulatory nursing, or patient navigation strongly preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, organization, and patient education skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Willingness to float to other affiliated campuses as needed
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care and clinical support for adult oncology patients
- Complete patient assessments, obtain vital signs, and perform pulse oximetry and venipuncture
- Support infusion-related care and interpret laboratory and imaging results within the scope of practice
- Perform telephone triage and follow up with patients regarding symptoms, care needs, and treatment plans
- Provide patient education related to diagnoses, treatments, medications, and follow-up care
- Coordinate referrals, appointments, diagnostic testing, and other aspects of the patient care plan
- Assist with medication refill requests, authorization forms, disability forms, and other clinical documentation
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic
- Collaborate with providers and the care team to promote continuity of care and positive patient outcomes
- Follow clinical, safety, infection prevention, and hazardous-material handling standards
