Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Location: 509 Biltmore Ave, Asheville, NC 28801 (Asheville, North Carolina — Blue Ridge Mountains)
- Role: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse / Step-down nurse / Med-Surg RN
- Setting: Main campus, PCU (23 step-down beds, 16 med-surg beds)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) — Travel RN night shift
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts in a 6-week period
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (PCU, step-down, or med-surg experience preferred)
- Experience caring for tracheostomy patients and stable ventilated patients
- Active RN license (must meet travel RN state requirements)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Previous experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and a high level of clinical competence
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care for step-down and med-surg patients, including patients with tracheostomies, chest tubes, and stable ventilator support
- Perform unit procedures such as trach care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes
- Monitor cardiac drips, manage patient lifts, and operate other specialized equipment
- Float to other med-surg and progressive care units as needed to support patient care
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (physicians, respiratory therapists, PT/OT) to deliver coordinated care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Cerner EMR
