Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse - Travel Nurse (Columbus, OH)
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse travel assignment in Columbus, Ohio (43210) — 13-week contract. Seeking experienced PCU RN / telemetry RN with ACLS, BLS, IV starts and Epic charting for a high-acuity PCU at a major medical center.
Job Details
- Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Columbus, Ohio travel nursing opportunity)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940-$2040/week
- Setting: Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — telemetry / cardiac RN focus; post-lung transplant care
- Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 07:00–19:00, Night: 19:30–07:30), 36 hours per week
- Schedule: Weekdays and some weekends, rotating holidays; self-scheduling
- Weekend Shifts: 4 shifts for every 4 weeks (per contract)
- On-call: Required
- Patient Ratio: 1:3
- Orientation: 24 hours
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience; telemetry RN or cardiac RN preferred
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission) — Ohio travel nurse candidates must complete fingerprinting promptly upon contract signing
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Proficiency in IV starts, central/peripheral line care, and telemetry monitoring
- Epic charting experience required (Epic documentation)
- Comfortable floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leader)
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adult patients in a busy Progressive Care Unit
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac drips, and respond to rapid response/code situations (telemetry RN responsibilities)
- Start and maintain IVs, manage central and peripheral lines, and administer blood products
- Care for ventilated patients, including chronic ventilator management and post-lung transplant care
- Implement and titrate insulin protocols, manage feeding tubes, and provide tracheostomy care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and others
- Float to other units within the organization as required
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic to ensure continuity of care
