  • Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown / Telemetry — PCU RN / Telemetry Nurse role
  • Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45 – 07:15)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Patient Ratio: 1:3–4
  • Charting: Epic (experience with Epic electronic charting required)
  • Orientation: 24 hours onsite
  • Start / End Dates: March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026
  • Eligibility: Must meet the 100-mile radius rule (must live at least 100 miles from the facility)

Required Qualifications (PCU RN / Telemetry Nurse)

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PCU / Stepdown / Telemetry RN experience
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record
  • Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac monitoring
  • Experience with rapid response/code teams, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
  • Familiarity with cardiac/vasoactive drips management (no titration), non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions/PPE

Key Responsibilities (PCU / Stepdown / Telemetry)

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 24-bed PCU/Stepdown/Telemetry unit
  • Monitor and manage patients with complex conditions including heart failure, TAVR/CABG recovery, stroke care, sepsis, diabetes, renal failure, and respiratory failure
  • Participate in emergent procedures and responses such as cardioversion and central line support
  • Utilize specialized respiratory support equipment including BIPAP/CPAP, IPPB, and high-flow oxygen therapies
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, case management—to optimize patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic electronic health record
  • Float to other units as staffing needs require and provide scheduled weekend coverage (minimum 6 weekend shifts during contract)
