Pediatric/Neonatal Critical Care Transport RN – Seattle, WA Travel Nursing Contract

  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
  • Shift Hours: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Call: No call required
  • Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatric patients, and adolescents
  • Floating: May support NICU, PICU, or pediatric units when transport coverage is not required
  • Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience required

Pediatric and Neonatal Transport RN Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in Washington; compact license must be in hand when required
  • At least 1 year of professional nursing experience required; 2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Previous pediatric or neonatal critical care transport experience required
  • Ground transport nursing experience required
  • Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
  • Experience caring for patients in NICU, PICU, pediatric, or other critical care settings
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to remain calm while managing high-acuity patients in transit
  • Comfort with Epic documentation and electronic clinical communication
  • Charge nurse or team leadership experience preferred

Critical Care Transport RN Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care during ground transportation of neonates and pediatric patients
  • Collaborate with respiratory therapists and advanced practice providers throughout patient transport
  • Respond to transport requests from emergency departments, labor and delivery, NICUs, PICUs, and other hospital units
  • Assess and stabilize patients before departure and continuously monitor their condition during transport
  • Manage ventilated patients, acute airways, tracheostomies, chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines, IV vasopressors, and continuous sedation as clinically indicated
  • Perform pediatric dosage calculations and administer medications safely
  • Monitor end-tidal CO2, oxygenation, ventilator settings, dysrhythmias, and arterial blood gas results
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate patient status during handoff
  • Apply appropriate isolation precautions and use transport equipment according to clinical and safety standards
  • Support NICU, PICU, and pediatric bedside staffing needs when assigned
