Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health Travel Nursing Contract in Murfreesboro, TN
Join a behavioral health nursing team in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, as a Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) providing inpatient psychiatric care for adolescents, adults, seniors, and patients with varying acuity levels. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers 12-hour day shifts and the opportunity to support a diverse patient population in a compassionate behavioral health setting. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570–$1,650
- Location: Murfreesboro, Tennessee
- Assignment Type: 13-week behavioral health travel contract
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- End Date: January 24, 2027
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: As assigned
Psychiatric Registered Nurse Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- At least 2 years of inpatient psychiatric nursing or behavioral health nursing experience
- Experience caring for patients across a range of acuity levels, from low acuity to high acuity
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Handle with Care certification or the ability to obtain it as required
- Comfort caring for patients ranging from approximately age 8 through older adulthood, including patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities and those receiving physical rehabilitation services
- Travel assignment eligibility requires living at least 50 miles from the worksite
Behavioral Health RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in an inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health setting
- Complete patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and evaluate patient responses
- Support adolescents, adults, and seniors with a variety of psychiatric and behavioral health needs
- Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition, behavior, and acuity
- Promote a therapeutic, structured, and respectful environment for patients and their families
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support treatment goals and safe transitions of care
- Float to other units as needed, including units serving patients with differing acuity levels, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and physical rehabilitation needs
- Follow established patient safety, de-escalation, and behavioral health care protocols
