Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry (Med/Surg/Telemetry) experience; telemetry RN and cardiac monitoring experience strongly preferred
- BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills in an acute care environment
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary hospital team
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adults on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Continuously monitor and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and vital signs
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with physicians, cardiology, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
- Perform patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, and post-discharge care
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the EMR (electronic medical record)
- Escalate changes in patient condition and participate in rapid response teams as required
