Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey or eligibility under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
- Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience or comparable med-surg nursing experience
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association preferred)
- Proven experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and rhythm recognition
- Strong clinical assessment, IV/medication administration, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered care to adult patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit as a Telemetry Nurse
- Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, rhythms, and vital signs
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per physician orders
- Perform thorough clinical assessments and document interventions in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
