Operating Room RN Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience required
- Active RN license in the applicable state
- Current BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards, sterile technique, and patient safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative surgical team environment
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Perioperative Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures in the operating room
- Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, and supplies for scheduled cases
- Maintain a sterile field and support adherence to infection prevention protocols
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, and surgical technologists to ensure efficient operating room workflow
- Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition throughout the perioperative process
- Accurately document patient care, surgical activities, and clinical observations
- Advocate for patient safety, comfort, and quality outcomes at every stage of care
