• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,065 - $2,295
• Location: South San Francisco, CA 94080 (San Mateo County, Bay Area)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Travel, On-Site)
• Employment Type: Travel Social Work, On-Site Hospital Position
• Shift: PM shift (12:30pm - 11:00pm)
• Shifts per Week: 4 (Wednesday - Saturday)
• Shift Length: 10 hours (40 hours/week)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Master of Social Work (MSW) degree required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare or hospital setting; ED, case management, or long-term care experience preferred
• Ability to work evening shifts and weekends (PM shift schedule)
• Strong communication, clinical assessment, and interpersonal skills
• Completion of skills checklist and provision of two professional references
• State licensure or LCSW preferred where applicable for California social work practice

Responsibilities – Emergency Department Social Worker / Medical Social Worker

• Provide social work services to patients and families in the Emergency Department during PM hours
• Perform psychosocial assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, physicians, case management) to address patient needs
• Assist with discharge planning, placement coordination, and community resource referrals
• Deliver crisis intervention, behavioral health support, and short-term counseling as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record and comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards
