Job Requirements
- Active Nevada RN license required prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Ability to successfully complete a telemetry competency exam, including rhythm strip identification and measurement
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity setting
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with changing patient needs
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to telemetry patients with a variety of cardiac and medical conditions
- Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms and telemetry changes promptly
- Care for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, NSTEMI, dysrhythmias, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, and post-procedure cardiac needs
- Administer medications and support patients receiving non-titratable cardiac drips as appropriate
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and carry out individualized care plans
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately and thoroughly
- Float to other appropriate units as needed within scope and competency
- Deliver compassionate patient care while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and patient-centered service
