Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830–$1,930
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks

  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts
  • Shift Hours: 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
  • Healthcare Setting: Acute-care telemetry unit
  • Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Call: Not required
  • Floating: May float to medical-surgical units and nearby affiliated facilities

Telemetry Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; compact license must be active and in hand when applicable
  • At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience
  • Previous telemetry or medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
  • Demonstrated experience caring for ventilated patients and managing tracheostomies is required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Proficiency with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and continuous telemetry monitoring
  • Experience with ventilator care, tracheostomy management, central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, IV therapy, and oxygen-delivery devices
  • Ability to manage patients with cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, endocrine, surgical, and wound-care needs
  • Ability to work every other weekend and meet assignment holiday scheduling expectations
  • Two professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the past 3 years
  • Any requested time off or scheduling restrictions must be provided during submission

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric telemetry patients in a fast-paced acute-care environment
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
  • Care for patients requiring ventilator support, tracheostomy management, noninvasive airway support, and high-flow oxygen therapy
  • Administer medications and blood products while following heparin, insulin, and other clinical protocols
  • Perform patient assessments, develop and update individualized care plans, and evaluate responses to treatment
  • Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, chest tubes, surgical drains, feeding tubes, wound vacuums, and other specialized equipment
  • Collaborate with providers, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid-response teams
  • Respond to clinical deterioration and participate in rapid-response and code-team activities as needed
  • Safely float to comparable medical-surgical units or nearby affiliated facilities when operationally required
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
