Telemetry Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract in San Pedro, California
Join a collaborative acute care team as a Telemetry Travel Registered Nurse (RN) in San Pedro, CA. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers experienced RNs the opportunity to care for adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced telemetry setting while working alongside strong interdisciplinary support services. Care for patients with complex cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, medical-surgical, and postoperative conditions in a welcoming coastal community with scenic harbor views and convenient access to the greater Los Angeles region.

- Shift: Day shift, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Call: Not required
- Floating: May float to medical-surgical units or nearby sister facilities
- Charting: Electronic health record experience required
Telemetry Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for the assignment state; compact license must be active and in hand when applicable
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience
- Recent telemetry or medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Demonstrated experience caring for ventilated patients and managing tracheostomies; this is an essential requirement
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, oxygen therapy, and IV therapy
- Experience with tracheostomy care, ventilator management, non-invasive airway support, and high-flow oxygen
- Ability to care for patients with cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, endocrine, renal, skin, and postoperative diagnoses
- Willingness to float to medical-surgical units as needed
Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric telemetry patients
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, identify dysrhythmias, and escalate changes in patient condition
- Care for ventilated patients and perform tracheostomy management according to clinical standards
- Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Administer medications, blood products, insulin infusions, anticoagulation therapies, and other treatments as ordered
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, feeding tubes, surgical drains, chest tubes, wound care, and wound vacs
- Support patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, oxygen therapy, and other respiratory interventions
- Recognize clinical deterioration and collaborate with rapid response, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, and other interdisciplinary teams
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
- Float to comparable medical-surgical assignments when needed while maintaining a high standard of patient-centered care
